Ligtas na Online, Ligtas na Bata.

The 2025 National Children’s Month celebration highlights one of the most urgent issues faced by Filipino children today online sexual abuse and exploitation. With the theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”, the campaign emphasizes our collective responsibility to protect every child in the digital world. As technology becomes more accessible, children become more vulnerable to online predators, making the fight for their safety and dignity a national priority.

The government has taken significant steps to address this issue by strengthening laws and enforcing stricter protection measures. The Anti-OSAEC law, the Cybercrime Prevention Act, and the expansion of DSWD, PNP-WCPC, and NBI task forces are examples of how the government works to respond to online threats. These programs aim to monitor online activities, rescue victims, and hold offenders accountable. While challenges still exist, the government’s growing focus on digital safety shows that children’s rights are being taken seriously.

Aside from law enforcement, the government also works on prevention through education and awareness. Campaigns in schools, barangays, and online platforms help parents and children recognize danger signs and report suspicious behavior.

By strengthening digital literacy and empowering communities, the government ensures that protection begins at home and continues across the online world. When society and institutions work together, children gain a stronger shield against exploitation.
Overall, this year’s theme reminds us that protecting children is not just the responsibility of the government—it is everyone’s duty. The fight against OSAEC and CSAEM requires unity, awareness, and compassion. By supporting these efforts, reporting harmful activities, and promoting safe online practices, we help create a society where every child can grow
